A2A Pics Again, Embassadors For Quebec's 400th, Skate Podium- Lots Of Good Stuff

A2A Pics Again: Looking for more Athens to Atlanta pictures? You can find a whole bunch thanks to Roadskater.net. Click here and here to launch your search. If you want a couple of more nice A2A pictures, then click here. Now it's funny that as I post today's entry, I notice that there's a plug for EZ feet on the Inline Planet- see Ezeefit Ankle Booties- EZ Feet really helped prevent my feet from getting blisters this season- those things are awesome! Word of caution; when you use the thick ones for a long race like A2A, don't tie up your skates too tight!

Embassadors For Quebec's 400th- Quebec City is turning 400 years old and there are plenty of celebrations planned around the birthday. Click here for an article in French that spotlights four athletes- two of which are speedskaters- who will be the sporting embassadors for the festivities in 2008. What's cool is that the athletes will wear the city coulours during world competition.

You can read a french transcript of a short track feature on Radio Canada.

Skate Podium- Lots Of Good Stuff: Skate Podium keeps pumping out lots of good material from the skating world. I am trying to figure out how the marathon manager competition works, but I've picked my team, and I hope my random choices of athletes for my team bring me some big winnings! Actually, I've carefully selected my team, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

So if you really want to dig deep into the Skate Podium website, you'll find videos and results and interviews- here are a few that I've selected for you; some live results and videos from the 1st KNSB-Cup in Amsterdam, an interview featuring Wouter olde Heuvel and Sven Kramer, and a team Beelen Sloopwerken feature.

'More from the site!' you say? Ok, ok! Skate Podium adds tons of fresh news every day- see Dutch long track selection results (5k's and 500's) and an interview with amazing long track skater & TVM member Carl Verheijen. TVM is the green team and they're apparantely the team to be on!
