Montreal 24 Hours Inline- Video & Photos

Montreal 24 Hours Inline- Video & Photos: After an event like the 24 Hours Inline Montreal, I can have sort of 'down'. Let me explain what I mean. During an event like the 24 hours, a lot of time is spent with many wonderful people (like the fine skaters from Skater's Quest at this year's 24 hour- they fed me some yummy food!). When the event is wraps up, we all go our separate ways.

I went to eat and chill out a little bit on Sunday after this year's 24 hours. A few of us planned to go for a sprint workout on a 400-meter track later in the afternoon. Right before we met up for our workout, Brian Jalbert realized that he forgot his skates at the 24 hours earlier that day. We drove to the 24 hours relay site to see if his skates were there.

What we found instead of his skaters was that just about everything had been packed up and everyone was gone except for two guys who were finishing packing up a big tent into a truck. It was funny to think that the spot where Brian and I were standing- an empty straight of road beside a big building in the late afternoon sun- had previously been a living, rolling, buslting, and breathing village filled with music, vendors, food, and of course skaters.

A few minutes after Brian, Morgane, and I did some seaching, Martine Charbonneau called us and let us know she had Brian's skates thanks to Gabriel Girard who found them earlier on. Brian was very happy. We had a good workout...except for Morgane who left her skates at home...sigh!

So to help counteract that 'down', there are videos and photos that make it easy to relive and remember the moments we lived through and shared. At the same time, we get to look forward to the next time that we will have another great weekend of skating, friends, and fun. There are plenty of opportunities to live those kinds of weekends- Duluth, New York 100k, A2A, world championships & Pan Am Games (more than a weekend and not everyone gets to go unfortunately), and of course the next 24 Hour Montreal Inline- the list goes on and on.

And now on with my 24 Hours Montreal Inline video from Sunday- click here to check it out (link coming soon) or press play below-

If you'd like to read up on the event, there is lots being said in Let's Form a Montreal 24 Hour SkateLog Team and Team Skatelog Places 9th Overall!!!. In one of the threads, it is written 'The accomplishment was exhilarating and my teammates and I have a bond that will never disappear, even when we race against each other'.

I expected that 24 Hours Montreal Inline photo albums would start springing up today and they did- you can go check out LBV Sports Skate Club's photos and Termv's photos.
