300’s & Pizza, Whitty, A2A, & TV, Track Specs, Ice News, Bont/ Hyper, A Few Pictures

300’s & Pizza: It’s not often that I dream of skating. When I do, I don’t really talk about them to anyone. Last night though, I had the weirdest dream: It involved and top US skater doing a 300-meter race on the road. The 300-meter is no longer a distance on the road. Anyways, this skater in question decided to race the 300-meter distance while eating a pizza. In my dream, I watched the race and cheered on the skater finishing the sprint and the slice. The skater finished the 300 in just under 27 seconds and finished the pizza 3 seconds later. Man, I think I need to get out.

Whitty, A2A, & TV: I recently reported that Matthew Whitty would be skating this year’s Athens To Atlanta to raise funds for homes & a school to be built in Nicaragua and that his quest was to be filmed. Click here and here for more details.

Track Specs: Want to see more specs for a banked track? Click here and check out the file(PDF). In case you don’t feel like downloading the file, you can just view the images below.

Ice News: The Inline Planet has an article on Chad Herdrick called Allround Disappointment. I still think Chad Hedrik is a beast, he can probably beat me if he wore his ice blades for an inline race or his wheels in an ice race.

If you’re looking for more ice stuff, look no further than CITC’s newest article called The Unsinkable Molly Brown/ Ontario Cup #3. Alex Perrie, father of Paisley Perrie wrote a quote that I HAVE to put here for all to read: It goes 'Kids are the lifeblood of this sport. Without them we can just go out and buy a telescope and hope we can get a peek at that podium from a distance'. Like a few dads that I know, he's really going out of his way to help his children have the opportunities they need to succeed.

Bont/ Hyper: It’s official, directly from Alexander Bont: Bont & Hyper are teaming up to form an international race team for the 2007 season.

Didn't you post something about how you were pissed about having to pay for the track specs a while ago?

I wasn't pissed off. I quoted a few people and their disagreement/ displeasure with having to pay $ for track specs:

Oh. I remembered somebody was pissed. Are these the specs that usually have to be paid for, posted for free?

And if so, does that mean you're stickin' it to the skating man?

I don't know about stickin' it to the skating man- I don't even know if there's a 'man' to stick it to!

The specs that I posted are not the ones for the FIRS/CIC recognized track.

They’re not the specs? Well then this is significantly less devious than I assumed.

And, I gotta say, I’m little bummed about that. :)
