World Inline Cup News, Inline Planet Kilimanjaro Article Kicks Butt, A Couple Of Videos, Sponsored Skaters, Short Track World Cup #5

World Inline Cup News: More and more stuff is happening in preparation for the 2007 World Inline Cup season. According to PatinCarrera, Bont and Hyper are teaming up for the 2007 season. Some of the Swiss Inline Cup races will be on this season’s World Inline Cup circuit; there has been some date changes, so make sure you consult the events calendar before you book your tickets. Bill Begg has been sharing a whole bunch of information about this year’s WIC. This quote I like in particular: ‘Please go to WIC Skaters 2007 for programme & comments, Two World cup events could Carry a new Car for mens & womens winners, plus usual prize money’. Hmmmm. A new car? A new car! Sounds like Bob Barker on The Price Is Right; I can just picture Bob Barker, host of The Price Is Right, announcing ‘a new car!’. Oh, and Bill Begg shared the new updated WIC points system. I know this last link isn’t world cup news, but it has to do with world records and Bill Begg; This post/ thread, in my opinion, is worth an investment in reading time; See Bill Begg’s post on 2/7/07 12:33 pm.

At the start of the 2002 World Cup Grand Prix in Duluth, MN- I faced these top skaters and beat quite a few of them, yes, that's right, finishing 8th place

Inline Planet Kilimanjaro Article Kicks Butt: Return to Kilimanjaro; it’s a really good read and worth the time. My favourite part of the article is actually the picture of the chameleon on Eddy Matzger’s wheels.

A Couple Of Videos for you technique and thrill junkies: I don’t know which one to put first: Here goes: Perfect Double Push (first video below) and Road Skating (second video below). The Road Skating video looks nuts; my kinda thing!!

Sponsored Skaters: I’m linking to this thread again; I’ve been reading various thoughts and opinions about the USARS policy with respect to sponsored skaters.

Short Track World Cup #5: Skatingsisters is sharing pictures from last weekend’s world cup #5 in Heereenveen. Of particular interest is a video featuring Shani Davis. Canadians might be interested in knowing that John Monroe (from out west) is featured in the video. I bumped into John at the world cup in Montreal in December and he told me he was the coach for the Netherlands. Good stuff. John’s got experience in inline skating; you might have seen him as coach at the Pan Am Games and coaching Meaghan Buisson at the RSC National Championships.

Maybe my eye sight isn't so good..
But it doesn't look like those "road

Right you are about them not wearing skates. It took me 3 views of the video to realize that they're doing that in their flip flops!!
