Skating Billboards In St-Paul, Zurich- Aaron's Report & Mantia, Photos Just Because- Faces- Part 1

Skating Billboards In St-Paul: I love this Inline Planet article; Motorist Spot Giant Skaters in St. Paul!. Reading the article last night was a great way to finish off the day.

Zurich- Aaron's Report & Mantia: Aaron Arndt has finally posted his report on the Zurich WIC. He provides a very colourful and insightful look into the race dynamics and psychology of WIC racing and the every-day life of his adventures in Europe. Aaron says 'Damn, the corners were nuts. We would be going sometimes five lines wide through them, and you would get shoved from everywhere. Everyone wants to stay on their feet, and it’s not like anyone is being malicious. It’s actually the safest way for things to go. But there is a definite code of ethics. Sometimes the rules are broken, and the guys seem to know who are the most guilty. The WIC is really trying to stay clean from the pushing, shoving, and hand work, [so this is really frowned upon,] so that it doesn’t get out of hand, which can happen very quickly. Also, everyone wants to make it out of the corner with lots of speed, and close to wherever the front is, so no one wants to be behind the “Barney’s”. Those guys find their way to the back very quickly, by design. No one wants to get jammed up behind them'.

About this picture, Aaron writes 'I will let this picture explain the delay of my report on Zurich (which is up now)'

Since we're talking about Zurch, I might as well point out that some people have been commenting about the WIC racing, Joey Mantia's win, and the format/ lenght of WIC race- check out the comments in Joey Mantia wins car in Zurich.

Photos Just Because- Faces- Part 1: I am currently sitting with 1000’s of skating pictures on my computer- many of which I have never published (some I never will- they’re too compromising- wink wink). I thought that I would take some space on SSW and publish a few of my pictures.

There are 3 sections each in 2 parts- I will publish each section when there’s not much else to post on my site, so keep your eyes open/ browsers ready. The sections include: Faces (39 photos in 2 parts), Races (32 photos in 2 parts), and Stories (19 photos in 2 parts). This is Faces- Part 1.
