SSW Funding Drive, Canadian Pan Am Clinic, World Masters, Links- Matter USA & Skate-A-Round, Perfect Double Push, Coupe Quebec- Results & Pics
SSW Funding Drive: I will be having a funding drive on SSW in a couple of weeks. The drive will last one week. The aim is to raise funds to attend the World Championships and the Pan American Games. Stay tuned for more...
Canadian Pan Am Clinic: That's right, you guessed it; this weekend will be very very very busy, with the Ottawa Matzger Weekend, the Eastern Seaboard Series #2- School's Out in Trexlertown, and of course the Canadian Pan Am Games Training Clinic.
The clinic is a must-do for me, I don't have much of a choice wether I attend of not- it's mandatory. However, you do have the choice in taking part or not- I hope you decide to come out and take part in the clinic. It's going to be hard, comprehensive, and educational! A few top short track and inline skaters will take part. Click here for more.
World Masters: The Zurich WIC weekend of racing was important for a number of reasons, and one of those reasons was that it was the world master's championships. Use the following links for the results: men and women.
There's been a number of people who have been critical about the event and how certain things around it were handled. Now that the event is over, the skating community could let out the air from the collective deep breath that was taken, and we can now look towards the future- Bill Begg is doing that- he wrote some good points & ideas on Bont's message board about the future of masters worlds.
Links- Matter USA & Skate-A-Round: Surfing around the net and having the opportunity to re-explore the Matter USA was a nice treat for me last night. Matter USA's got quite the poster (see image below) of Joey Mantia on his way to victory (and a brand new SsangYong vehicle) in last weekend's Zurich WIC
Skate-A-Round- this is a pretty sweet concept which pairs sailing with inline skating.
Perfect Double Push: I know the concepts and ideas around the double push confuse a number of people. Recently, someone linked to the video (embeded below) in a message board. Even though I'm pretty sure that I linked to the video sometime before, I thought it would be a good idea to re-post the video here- Eddy Matzger narrates the video which features skaters from Team Salomon.
Coupe Quebec- Results & Pics: I'm a little bit late linking to these, but you can find the results from the first Coupe Quebec here- scroll down a little and you can click on each category. There's a few photo albums for you to check out; here (Lisa Meyer), here (VRL Le Club), and here (mine).
