Aaron's Lessons & Reports: Aaron Arndt is sharing more and more from his European/ international experiences on his website- it's great reading material; The Simplified Lesson: Volume 2, The Simplified Lesson: Volume 3, Worldinlinecenter Bont Europe Team Profile, Incheon WIC report, Weinfelden WIC report, and a Dijon report. I can't wait to read his report on the Zurich WIC- I can't find his name on the standings anywhere though. I hope he skated and did well.
I am trying to avoid copying what Aaron writes, but I cannot not put it up, simply because it is a good read and I want to encourage you to check out his reports- I am sure Aaron is motivated by the hit count on his website. I know I am on mine. Ok, on Weinfelden, Aaron writes 'I don’t care what anyone tells you, the start of this race was indeed completely insane. Some 300 capable pro’s and semi pro’s scattered through the street in nothing short of chaotic butchery. '.
I just love this following description of the in-pack dynamics of Dijon; 'The first half of the race was fast and intense, with relentless attacks and chasing. I was able to stay in the peleton without much difficulty, taking advantage of the lines that were moving up, and being watchful of the flow of the pack. Matter, Rollerblade, and Powerslide were the most active in the attacking, and once an attack got away with something of a ‘balanced’ representation, the attack was away, and the bigger teams stopped chasing, leaving the smaller teams to take on the task. Things then relaxed considerably, and I found the pace rather easy'.
Israel At Worlds: You can read up on the interesting thread Israel at world championships- lots being said here.
