Upcoming Events News, Theresa Ryan Interview, Still In The 'Good Year' Mood?, And Let The Results Come In
Upcoming Events News: I like the title of the post for this upcoming event: It Only Gets Better- The 2007 Tampa Classic. While some of you are at this event, I’ll probably be brushing the snow off my car…or maybe driving or skating through the melting snow. Next up, there will be a new race called the Columbia Station Inline Skate Marathon on May 13th. With Alan Marcosson saying 'There will be some serious cash at this event', well, those words are sweet, aren’t they? A number of races have their online registration going, including the Texas Road Rash (March 25th) and the 24 Hours Inline Montreal. Do I need to plug the 24 Hours Inline Montreal? I think I just did. Let me do it again: The 24 Hours Inline Montreal will take place on July 14th to the 15th. Finally, I linked to this one before, but it’s always worth re-linking the 2007 Swiss Inline Cup Calendar.
The 24 Hours Inline Montreal is a great international event
Theresa Ryan Interview: I never like to hear of athletes leaving inline skating for another sport or putting inline skating on the back-burner. When it does happen however, I do wish them the best and I am always curious to see how well they are doing in their new sport. Theresa Ryan has shifted her attention to cycling. You can read an interview on TeamDes and find out some about what she’s up to (you might have to scroll down if you’re reading this after today).
Theresa Ryan started her sprint at the 2003 world championships in Venezuela
Still In The 'Good Year' Mood? I am. Happy new-year! Ok ok, I know, it’s January 4th (or it was when I typed this). Anyways, Andrew Hegarty and Candy Wong celebrated the new-year with a road-skate. Read and compare Andrew's and Candy's posts (and see Candy's photos).
And Let The Results Come In: Speed-Skating.net's online poll for the 2006 skater of the year is in! Who are the winners? Click here to find out! Speaking of winners, you can also browse through SkateStats' 2006 results. If you name was not in Speed-Skating.net's winner’s list, there’s a good possibility that you’ll be listed on SkateStats' list.

For those of you who don't know who Theresa Ryan (Cliff) is, she's one of USA's greatest skaters- I've seen her win many medals at the world championships.
Local events (Ontario and Quebec); Right now it looks like the RSO Series (dates TBD), Canada Day (Cambridge), RSO Provincials, RSC Nationals, Quebec Cup, and perhaps a marathon on Sept. 9th on the F1 track in Montreal. There's also the Ottawa Inline Skating Festival. Can't forget the 24 Hours Inline Montreal.
