What's Up This Weekend, Ahn Is Out, CBC & ISU, Swiss News, Blog News (Andrew Kraft, RRC Responses, AA's Crazy Pills), Dump Video
What's Up This Weekend: It looks like this weekend's gonna be really busy- and that's good because you'll have plenty of material to dig up- or if you have very limited time, it can be a bad thing because you'll feel overwhelmed by all the information that's available at a click of a mouse.
The long track world sprint championships are on- this weekend- in the Netherland in Heerenveen. I'm assuming that KNSB will be posting some results & more, and I am pretty sure that SpeedSkatingResults.com will be posting results. You can find lots more on the world sprint speed skating championships site.

The European short track championships are taking place in Latvia. You can find all the results here and you can click around ShorttrackOnLine.info for things like photos and results.

The next event that we're treated to is the KNSB Cup finale in Alkmaar.
Another event taking place this weekend is the Canadian short track trials- click Canadian trials for more. Make sure you come back to my site on Saturday evening or night for a bit of a surprise hehehe.
Ahn Is Out: Ohno Zone is reporting that Korea's Ahn Hyun-soo injured his left knee- read Ahn is out for the season for more.
CBC & ISU: Canada's national television network, the CBC, has signed a broadcast deal- read more in CBC, International Skating Union sign broadcast deal- 'Other highlights of the broadcast deal include coverage of a 2008 short-track speedskating World Cup event and the 2009 ISU world long-track speedskating championships'.
Swiss News: Patin Carrera has posted a report with results about the Embrach Swiss Indoors. See Nicolas Iten revalidó su título en el Swiss Indoor de Embrach- as you can tell by the title, it's written in Spanish.
Blog News (Andrew Kraft, RRC Responses, AA's Crazy Pills): The first blog that I'll direct you today is Andrew's Speed Skating Blog- there are a few items that could interest you, including recent posts about the GBC titled The Stadler Racing Team(s), What is with Zepto? and Subaru Comes Back with Romani for the GBC, Skate-TV and AM-Wing's New Hub!.
Check out the response to Road Rash Chronicles' entry Things I want to know but am afraid to ask.....
I liked reading Aaron Arndt's entry called *Crazy Pills.- he talks about WIC teams and bigger wheels. About the WIC, he says 'The international scene, meanwhile, is absolutely ablaze. I almost never post links, and even less often skating links, but people, you have to follow the events of this link: Bont Message Board: World Cup Topics for 2008 This is the sport. This year’s WIC off-season has been utter chaos, with teams folding, new ones created, and athletes switching teams, signing and not signing, and a relentless supply of floating rumours'.
Dump Video: Not, it's not one of my regular typos; Skate Podium has a Podium TV Dump section. The latest video called Nieuw talent bij KNSB Oost is, well, interesting.
