Vote For Design Canada: Roller Sports Canada and Il Peloton's 'Design Canada' competition features 22 submissions for costumes that you can vote for. There are plenty of sharp looking costumes, and after much thought, I voted for entry #12. Click here for all the information.
Road Rash Chronicles has put up an entry reguarding the voting; see Voting - Random Thought and GET VOTING PEOPLE!!.

Olympic News: This is interesting to say the least; [Olympic Movement] - Tell the Olympics to Add Inline Skating. Robert Burson writes 'The process of adding a comment is rather lengthy, so be patient. First you have to register; then you have to provide some personal information. Finally, you are allowed to post comments on two subjects'.
RRC's Almost 1st Year: I really like this entry on Road Rash Chronicles; My First Year (almost) of Skating - Lessons Learned. Some of the ones that I liked or I thought are important or make you think include the following;
'5. Even Clubs have class systems, politics and history. You will never know the full story so don't try to.
19. You will find yourself Google'ing: Double Push, Pressure Points, Heat Molding, Il Peloton, Semi Race, OISC, Dryland exercises, road rash, Speed Skate World, Eddy Metzger, Bont...etc.
22. Your need for a camel back water pack will diminish over time.
26. You will inevitably shave your legs.'
REL- 110mm & Edges: Roller En Ligne has a couple of articles that may be of interest to you; read this article if you'd like to be a tester of 110mm material. Check out this article that talks about edges.

Blogs News (Arndt, Dream Chaser, Zen, Slembrouck): According to Aaron Arndt's latest entry One step closer to (the) everything (drill)., he will be going to Ottawa again this weekend- he says '...and I am driving a dog back with me...'. I wish I could drive a dog with me. I like dogs.
I also like Aaron's description of what's taking place at the Scooter's Indoor Speed Club practice; '...during one of the two sets of relays (10mins @1lap exchanges in teams of 3, and a short Pyramid 3×1,1×2,1×3,1×2,3×1); Jacky and Eric Maas both put in vying bids for the 'pass of the night'... I still can’t decide between the two, with Eric’s being a butter smooth third to first, and Jacky’s being some sort of kamikaze 'I can’t believe he made that' kind of thing'.
Candy Wong wrote about in Winter Is Back With A Vengeance where she talks about an outdoor skate and indoor practice. She posted again today- see Better, Just Slightly. You can find some of her photos from the outdoor skate here.

Andrew Love's blog Zen And The Art Of Speed Skating has a new entry called Pictures from Mexico- I love the picture of the moth on the skate. It's pretty darn big!!

'Speaking of games, during an evening practice session, a mystery speedskater swept onto the ice, in a Bont T-Shirt and traditional Mexican wrestling mask. He circled the rink daring anyone to take him on- Luckily, Olympic gold medalist Derek Parra was up to the challenge, the match was on!'- caption and photo from Zen And The Art Of Speed Skating
Martin Slembrouck's Blog has a few entries that I've been meaning to put up for the last few days- see Junior World Championships: video’s, Foto’s Speculaascup Hasselt, Junior World Championships 2008, and Speculaascup Hasselt.
World Jr Vids: Here is a selection of videos from this past weekend's World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships- World Junior Champion Short Track Bolzano 11-13/01/08, World Junior Champion Short Track Bolzano 11-13/01/08, World Junior Champion Short Track Bolzano 11-13/01/08, and World Junior Champion Short Track Bolzano 11-13/01/08... use the links on the right for more.
