Roller En Ligne's How It's Made, Blog News, Spiderman Suit For Ed Leung, Greensboro Meet Results, ST World Cup On OhnoZone, Non-Skating Stuff, Oldies

Roller En Ligne's How It's Made: The series of following articles on Roller En Ligne have got to be some of the coolest and most interesting articles that I've read online; they describe how things are made- and you may need Babel Fish Translation because the articles are in French; see how wheels are made, how bearings are made, how frames are made, and how skates are made.

Blog News: Kwang Min (Kevin) Noh posted an entry about TISC's year end party called Lots Of Pizza~; Kevin writes 'I was starving to death. As soon as pizza arrived, I rushed the snack stand where the pizza were put on and had five pieces of pizza. It was so good. Hunger always stimulates good appetite. I would have had more pizza if there were more but I got some cookies which Travis brought instead'.

Michael Cole wrote in his blog about how he missed the year end party- see How to Blog when distracted- he writes '...last night at Scooters the Toronto Inline Skate Club had their annual awards ceremony and pizza party. I must admit I wish I could have been there, but as one might expect Peter (see Speed Skate World on the right) did his usual outstanding job documenting the event for all posterity...'.

Candy Wong skated the free-skate portion of last night's party on roller skates. This was her first time in years and years on roller skates, and she wrote about it in You Can Call Me 'Tumbles' (Hmm, May Be Not).

Here's an interesting blog for you; Speed Skater’s Blog. I'll quote the description; 'Welcome to my new blog that is going to basically be a journal of my attempt to make a speed skating comeback. My name is Ryan and I am 28 years old living in Greensboro, NC. I started skating for Piedmont when I was 14 years old and competed until I was 20...'. I am looking forward to seeing this blog come to life.

Spiderman Suit For Ed Leung: As far as I could tell, Ed Leung is a spiderman fan. I like spiderman too. It's funny because for Halloween at the school where I teach, there are many many spidermen. I suspect Ed will enjoy this thread (and perhaps add to his spidermen suit collection); JMC is offering SPIDERMAN SKIN SUIT !!!.

Greensboro Meet Results: Here are some results for you; see results for Greensboro meet?.

ST World Cup On OhnoZone: OhnoZone was all over the coverage of this past weekend's short track world cup #3- plenty of reports, results, photos, and background stories- see USA team practice, Thursday practice, Canadian team, day 1 (part 1), day 1 (part 2), day 1 (part 3), day 1 (part 4), day 2 (part 1), day 2 (part 2), day 2 (part 3), day 3 (part 1), and day 3 (part 2).

Non-Skating Stuff: I've heard about this mysterious movie called Cloverfield about 6 months ago- there is a bit more information out on the movie now, and I can't wait to see it. Here's a blog which has a bit more information on the movie.

Before going to bed last night, I was browsing through YouTube and found a couple of cycling videos- on that I thought was really cool (Lance Armstrong's 2003 short-cut- I remember watching it on tv!) and the other, well, I hope never happens to me in a skating race (Marcus Burghardt hitting a dog- the dog was ok...I think)- you can see both videos below-

Oldies: How about these photos from the 1980's- see uit de Oude Doos.
