Mississauga Criterium- August 6th, Canadian Nats Videos, Hegarty- Brand Experience & Q&A, Videos, Link & Mississauga Track, Cycling Encounters

Mississauga Criterium- August 6th: I'll take a few minutes to promote a race that is taking place on Monday August 6th in Mississauga- the Mississauga Criterium. You can find a lot of details here.

Just an FYI/ plug on a few more upcoming Canadian races- RSO Speed Series #3 on July 29th at Christ the King 200-meter track in Toronto and the Quebec Cup #2 taking place in Montreal/ Longueuil on August 5th- the day before the Mississauga Criterium. I expect that I'll be at all 3 of those events. Perhaps I'll see you there? Yes? Great!

Canadian Nats Videos: Mike Garvin has uploaded a whole bunch of videos from the RSC Canadian Championships- click here for outdoor and click here for indoor videos.

Hegarty- Brand Experience & WIC Q&A: Andrew Hegarty has posted a thank you note to The Brand Experience- one of his important supporters. A link of interest on Andrew's site is his WIC Q&A that he posted last week. He writes 'The races themselves are something quite different. Each race is a circus of music, people, equipment, food, racing aind a party. Once you arrive at the Skate Village you hear the music and see the vendors and you start to get excited about the race. As the hours tick by and everyone starts to warm up the excitement builds and the whole event becomes really special. The races themselves are always full of action, adversary, triumph and crashes… never a dull moment. Afterwards, the Village is full of skaters and spectators as we watch footage of the race we just finished and have a quick bite to eat. The awards ceremonies tend to bring crowds of people waiting to see their favourite skater awarded their medals. Then there’s the party. Every race has one, some are bigger than others, but there’s always live entertainment and pleanty of fluids to loosen everyone up. The atmosphere is definately best described as bigger than life'.

Videos: Here are a few videos to get your race/ skate juices flowing.

First video- SIC Zug- click here to play or press play below. It's neat how the skaters are all wearing the same coloured shirts at the start of the video.

Second video- 'Till I Collapse- click here to play or press play below. Like I said before, if you dislike curse words, turn the volume down. If you like curse words, turn the volume up and sing along!

Third video- training in Weinfelden- click here to play or press play below- this one was fun to watch the skaters doing their flying 200's. Fast, real fast.

Link & Mississauga Track: Why'd I put these two items together? I don't know. Anyways, here's a link- Ride On Lille- for you to check out. It's in french, but there's lot of stuff on rec skating.

If you live in or around Mississauga, you'll be please to read that Ryczard Adamczyk has found a new track- click here for more information.

Cycling Encounters: This thread has been fun to read; Encounters of a cycle kind. I love the struggle monkeys.
