Cheex Skating Blog: USA's Michael Cheeks has a blog. He put up a report on the Greensboro Meet. He says ' I remember being a kid and getting super nervous about this meet. Even though we were never really training for it, you always like to do well the first meet of the season' and 'First thing that really stick out in my mind about this meet Is the talent level of the younger kids. Wow, really impressed with all kids and just how fast they're going'. Definitely looking forward to reading more of his thoughts and perspectives.

Trans-USA Record Attempt: What will you be doing on January 1st 2008? Recovering from a New Year's party? Danny Dannels has other plans- very very nice. See Trans-USA Record Attempt. 'Hi! Danny Dannels here. I skate with the Texas Flyers. I have received authorization from Guinness World Records to make a Trans-USA record attempt on my speed skates. I will be skating up to 100 miles per day from Jacksonville, FL to San Diego, CA. I will be skating in the I-10 corridor (not on I-10). I am projecting a 30+ day journey rife with human struggle and accomplishments. I will also be blogging my account on my MySpace page during the trip. I begin January 1, 2008'. Best of luck Danny!

FB's Fire: Flyin Brian put up a good entry about the 2006 Winter Olympic opening ceremony- it's called Light the Fire Within. He says 'So the Friday night real show at the Opening Ceremonies seemed like a crap shoot. 60,000 fans and a few billion on live TV. I know the choregrapher Sara Karahara and the producers were stressed the last week. Amazingly, everything went off without a hitch'.
