Love's Amazing Mexico: Andrew Love started sharing his experiences in Mexico City in Amazing Mexico. He says 'I traveled a good 40 meters through the best, coldest, wettest slip & slide EVER!

15,000 people went nuts. I stood up, water pouring off me & felt all that cosmic YEAH! from all those people electrifying neurons in my brain never before touched (or maybe it was the cold water)...
'. You can view Andrew's video Mexico City Speedskating SPLASH!! or press play below. Click here for the AP video and wait until the 1:45 mark. How fun!

Flyin Brian also wrote about the Mexico ice experience; see Mexi-Kraan in Mexico.

WIC Women Of 2007: The Inline Planet has just published an article by Bill Begg called Who Was Who and Who Did What ... in the 2007 World Inline Cup- WIC Women. Thanks IP & Bill Begg.

Chile's Catherine Penan behind New Zealand's Nicole Begg at the 2007 world roller speed skating championships in Cali, Colombia- about Penan, Bill Begg writes 'The 18-year-old Chilean champion had a solid rookie year in the WIC...any doubts about her ability were put to rest in Biel, where she showed her strength in the breakaway and tried to steal victory in the long sprint in the finish...'

Briand Kolomna Update: Pascal Briand put up an update about last weekene'd long track world cup- see world cup in moscow.

France's Pascal Brian, , and Tristan Loy- photo from Pascal Briand

Revotech's 2008 3x120: Looks like Revotech's frames are ready for 2008- check out the specs. Maybe Heyoo will carry their products? Hehhe, you like how I put Heyoo in there eh?

Custom Shoes: Skate Podium has an article and video about custom skating shoes. Good stuff from an ever good site- lots of insight and inspirado for those emerging boot and skate shoe makers like EGCSkates- I know Eric Gee is taking a break from his site, but I wonder if he reads my site.

Waco Roundup Pics: The thread Pictures from the Waco Roundup Meet?? has finally bore some fruit- Lemming came to the rescue and posted photos- see TT1, TT2, TT3, TT4, AM races, and PM races.

HDB's Geleen KNSB #9 Pics: Harm de Boer Fotografie has put up some photos from this past weekend's KNSB Cup #9 in Geleen- see men A and men B.

Yeah - Pete - I do read your site. Thanks for the video of the bootmaker. The boot makers website leaves much to be desired though. While Erwin was being interviewed - you could see in the background - two vaccum presses. These are interesting devices and I considered using them for the shell lamination at one point.

They're expensive and require specialized vaccum pumps. Not really necessary IMO. The only piece of equipment that a boot maker could use to make life easier is a shoe makers sewing machine.

Every boot maker uses or engineers the construction process differently. I don't understand what he was saying, but it looks like he doesn't use the plaster as a last. That machine he showed is a different kind of vacuum press. He appears to be using it to make a plastic shell, then using that as the last. The plaster last is saved so that another pair can be made from them without re-casting.

I like the solution, but it's not an affordable one for a small boot maker.
