Quebec Cup #3 Report

Quebec Cup #3: The 3rd edition of the Quebec Cup took place today. I didn't skate it- I am taking a 3 week break from all training. The break is an order from the top (coach) and will help me heal and set up my training for 2008.

The turnout for the Quebec Cup was a little bit smaller than what I thought it would or could and should be, but people did travel and go out of their way to support the race, coming from such far away places as Harriston, Toronto, Ottawa, Victoriaville, Gaspesie, and of course, Montreal.

The Quebec Cup offeres skating as a great reason for many of us to meet up in one of the world's most beautiful cities. This time through, a few people made it to the Quebec Cup as a stop-over while on their way to tomorrow's Ottawa Inline Skating Festival.

As the two previous Quebec Cup races, a lot of the races came down to the wire with very close finishes, keeping those of us watching and cheering on our toes and excited about the racing. With tactics that got some skaters declassified, some of the final rankings in this 3rd stage came down to the final distance of the day.

The 4th and final Quebec Cup race will take place on September 23rd.
