Northshore Inline Marathon (Duluth) Quick Report #1
Northshore Inline Marathon (Duluth) Quick Report #1: First off; click here for the race results!
It was absolutely freezing, very cold- they say it was the coldest Northshore start ever!
The start line this morning
Diego Resero had the competition for breakfast, beating 2nd place finisher Joey Mantia by 5 minutes! Julien Rivera finished 3rd. I skated with a few guys including Sergio Almeralla- I saw that I finished 25th, only 16 minutes behind Rosero! The race was extremely crazy fast and hard with a tough head-wind.
The pro men's race under way
Brigyte Mendez won the women's race in a break away and finshed in 1:24, Kara Peterson 2nd in about 1:25, and then a sprint for 3rd a couple of minutes back.
Pro master was won by Norman Kirby, 2nd was Craig Garcia and 3rd was Alex Fedak. Morgan Williams was 5th or 6th.
I found that the 110mm wheels are super crazy fast, and I am getting some for sure!
Eddy Matzger invited me to the start line after 42km away from the finish line and skated the course a 2nd time, cheering on many of the recreational skaters. It was fun doing that, but it was painful!
Eddy Matzger and I cheered on many skaters as we skated the 42km for the 2nd time- along the way was passed some interesting characters including Captain America
I have tons of video including some from the race, and quite a few pictures- I'll get them up later. For now, it's time to enjoy some potato pizza with my brother and then go to the awards ceremony and finish off the night with the party!

Comment est Eddy Matzger, Peter? A-t-il des objectifs précis cette année(NYC, a2a)?
Merci,
Gab from Québec beach
