The Spirit Of Volunteerism, Darren Kauffman On The Mend, Canadian Short Track Results, Emeraldcoast Speed Team Promo Video, World ST Videos

The Spirit Of Volunteerism: Below are a few of photos that I received. They were taken by Lana Richmond and Chris Jolivette. They are of a recent outing by the Indy Speed Skating Club. The club assisted in the annual Indiana Special Olympics skating competition. According to one of the club members, ‘The Special Olympians are great folks and we have several active athletics within our club. Our coaches, Ken & Cindy Hart, do this every year’.

Darren Kauffman On The Mend: The good luck wishes for Darren Kauffman keep coming in. This is an opportunity for the speed skating community to rally behind one of its wounded members. The posts include one from Darren Kauffman himself as well as one from his mother as well as a couple of pictures posted by Chelsea Creveling.

It really sucks seeing or hearing of someone getting injured. Some of you might recall that Travis Shaw snapped his leg in December at a Scooter's Indoor Speed Club (see Get Well Travis Shaw). I've seen him a few times, including once at his house where he took me down in Stratego, and another time at party where I drove him home. Everytime I see him, he's looking better and better, and he is able to walk on his own. He let me feel the screws in his leg through his skin; pretty cool stuff.

Canadian Short Track Results: In case you haven’t found these results, click here for the women's and here for the men's results from the Canadian National Team Trials Selection #3 and click here and click here for the results from the Canada Winter Games.

Emeraldcoast Speed Team Promo Video: No need to explain this one; the title says it all, well, almost all. It’s a long video featuring videos, photos, and a whole bunch of Linkin Park songs.

World ST Videos: Ohno Zone continues to be a great resource for all of use to access: the 2nd most recent post links up to some really good videos from last weekend’s short track world championships. Below are a few more videos from the championships: men's 1000-meter final and women's super (3000m) final.
