Montreal's Short Track World Cup, Race & Roll Update, How Could he be Guilty?

This Weekend's Short Track World Cup: I am leaving this afternoon for Montreal-town, the city that will play host to this weekend's short track world cup competition. Many inliners from Montreal and beyond will be in the stands, mostly cheering for the Canadians, but maybe cheering for some of the other countries too (when they fall...kidding).

Aaron Arndt will be there and him and I are looking at perhaps getting out on Sunday morning and skating with VRL Le Club. I will also hopefully meet up with Steve Robillard. Olivier Jean, who is one of Steve Robillard's life-long friends, will be competing.

This is a photo of a race during the World Team Championships took place at the Arena Maurice Richard in Montreal in March 2006

I stayed at Olivier Jean's appartment once. He lived right beside the arena (Arena Maurice Richard) with other skaters including USA team member Travis Jayner. FYI: Maurice Richard is one of the most legendary hockey players- he played for the Montreal Canadians (who lost to the New Jersey Devils last night btw).

I'll try to shoot some videos and take some pictures and post stories for PIRWP. Ahh and while writing this, I was just informed by Olivier Jean that the races will be from 8am to 5pm on Friday and 2pm to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Race & Roll Skating Magazine Update: Being editor of Race and Roll Skating Magazine has been a unique learning experience and a lot of work. The magazine is, suffice to say, behind in its production, but the good news is that the long (and probably angrily) anticipated 4th issue is at last at the printers. Dan Archambeau put a note on the Race & Roll website explaining the situation.

Dan says 'We are scheduled to print at the beginning of next week...I apologize for the delay, there have been some health issues and other excuses'.

How Could Eddy Matzger be Guilty? The Inline Planet explains the situation in this article. It's a good read with lots of information.

How can this sweet innocent face- not mine or Aaron Arndt's, but the one on the left- be guilty of anything but loving and promoting the sport of roller speed skating?
