Short Track World Cup Catch Up, RSO's New Concept, Event News
Short Track World Cup Catch Up: So you've been looking for additional coverage of this past weekends short track world cup? Look no further than You can start here and then surf around- there's tons of pictures and commentary for you to check out while you're avoiding your work. It of course goes without saying that you've got to check out some of these Roller Sports Ontario Speed Series for outdoor and indoor. There has also been the indoor and outdoor championship- a one time event to determine the provincial champions. Ontario skaters can only attend the national championships if they compete in the championships.

RSO's New Concept: For those of you familiar with the skating scene in Ontario, the Roller Sports Ontario Speed Series (indoor and outdoor) is a series that puts skaters in ability groups and offers multiple stages and prize money. The RSO Championships (indoor and outdoor) are usually a one or two day meet that serves to crown provincial champions in age groups. In the past, the RSO Championships have served as a qualifying event for Ontario skaters to attend Roller Sports Canada Championships.

There is now a significant change: It is now the RSO Indoor Speed Series that will serve as the qualifying event for the RSC Indoor Championships in July 2007. What I have is this: 'RSO will not be holding an Indoor Provincial Championship this year. Qualification to Indoor Nationals for Ontario Skaters will be by participation in two out of the four stages of the RSO Indoor series'.
This season's first indoor series race will be held on Sunday December 17th from 9:00am to 11:00am. Further dates TBD.
Event News: I used to play ice hockey and I was pretty good. Now my 'new obsession' is ball hockey and I rock at it! I've always been a fan of the N.H.L. and especially the Toronto Maple Leafs. For I don't know how many years, I've always been convinced that the Leafs would be destined to win the Stanley Cup that season. I've always been let down in the past, but this year is different. For sure the Leafs are going to bring the Stanley Cup to Toronto...
Anyways, this year's N.H.L. all-star game is taking place in Dallas. Lo-and-behold there's supposed to be an event called the N.H.L. All-Star Race and Roll (thread and event). Really cool!
