From Cali- Entry #3

From Cali- Entry #3: There have been some requests for me to take specific pictures, and I'll see what I can do for you. During this year's worlds, I've kept my camera put away most of the time. All I have shot so fare include a few photos before or after practice and some shots around town. Usually at worlds, I would have taken up to 300 pictures per day, but right now, I am averaging 10 to 15 photos per day.

I'll put up a few photos later, but first, let me catch you up with some of the news that's been breaking out of Cali. Worlds has not even started yet, so imagine all the stuff that you're going to be able to dig up once worlds actually begins!

PatinCarrera is reporting that there are 400-media peoples that will be covering this year's world championships. I think they head that I won't be providing extensive and in depth coverage of this year's worlds, so they had to bring in additional media to cover for me. I was chatting on MSN with Guido Ferra a few minutes ago, about 1-hour after he arrived in Cali. He is in good spirits and ready to provide live coverage in english. Might there even be live video? Oh man, if I wasn't racing, I'd be all over that site.

In case you don't have this link, well here's the official world championships site. If you want to keep track with the good, the bad, the ugly, and the interesting, World Champs Cali All News has a great deal at becoming a free-for-all in all those categories. Keep your browsers tuned to that one.

Now let me divert you back to a few items of interest that have been posted on PatinCarrera's worlds site; this one's big; Diego Rosero will not compete in Cali 2007, Joey Mantia ya rueda en suelo colombiano (in Spanish), and La Selección Chilena llegó a Cali en busca de seguir mejorando (in Spanish).

A few more links that are providing more inside insight on this year's worlds; Gavin Pollock's (Great Brittain) Gravity Research. Entries include We're in Cali, This track is great..., and Oh boy it's hot.

Team Des is providing a lot of insider information with Colombia Worlds 2007, interviews, etc. Desly Hill has interview Jessica Smith (USA), a chat with Shane Dobbin (New Zealand), an informative piece on Renee Hildebrand, and a look at the track.

The world championships provides a great show for fanatical skating fans like you and me. I'm lucky because I get to race int he world's greatest show, although I may not be at the fore-front of it no matter how much I try. The thing with worlds is that at some level, we can all enjoy it and have lots of fun. You'll probably get a kick out of trying out SkatePodium's World Championship Guessing Game. Ther are even prizes.

Finally, let me finish off this entry with this; remember how I started this entry talking about the 400-media that are present to cover worlds? Well word on the track is that there will be lots of television coverage, and this channel Telepacífico EL CANAL DEL SOL is supposedly going to carry some of the images and sounds from Cali. Check it out for yourself if you don't beleive me.
