SSW Fundraising Drive Day #4: The SSW Fundraising Drive continues today. As always, I extend my most complete thanks to everyone who is visiting SSW and especially to everyone who has donated. The total that came in yesterday was $65- which puts the grand total thus raised at $408.98.
I have this plan, this dream if you will, of reporting from the front lines of racing. I know that there are amazing websites out there for you to visit. Websites like Roller En Ligne, SkatePodium.com, RaceReports.net, and PatinCarrera offer a great deal of information that is so extremely valuable.
I aim at making SSW in your list of favourite websites by offering a unique perspective comprehensive coverage from the point of view of media, a fan, and an athlete. When you donate and support SSW, it will allow me or facilitate the plans that I have with SSW. Thanks for helping and reading and stopping by, and a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated.
SkatePodium.com: Something tells me that SkatePodium.com is going to kick some serious skating website butt. I remember linking to it before while it was being built. Well the new website is beautiful- I seriously think that it's one of the top websites out there already. There's a dump (for videos), European junior championships coverage, a photo section... I could go on and on, but I will take some time and learn what's posted on the site, how it is posted, and how I can link up to it.

Canaday Day Marathon Results: Many of you asked for the Canaday Day Marathon results. Wayne Burrett sent them out a couple of days ago and Mike Garvin posted the results here. Interesting to note that 3 of the top-5 skaters are from the Ottawa area.
It was a great race- let's make sure that the turn out of is better year after year. A lot of individuals put a whole whack of hours and work into making events like this one take place.
Some of you are wondering how I am doing after my fall. Well I am pleased to report that I am healing. My whole body is still aching, but I did start training again and I hope to be in top form soon. Skating is a dangerous sport and I've been pretty lucky escaping injuries in the past, so it's actually pretty easy for me to accept/ deal with this injury.
Sjoerd's RSO Speed Series #2 Pics: Sjoerd Witteveen was on hand this past weekend to shoot pictures at the 2nd RSO Speed Series. Click here for the photo album. Below are a few of his carnage photos.
REL In English- Le Mans Coverage & More: Roller En Ligne continues to feed us with all sorts of photos, results, and stories. I am very happy to announce that Roller En Ligne is now putting some of their material in english. This is great.
REL has posted a video (see below) of news coverage of the Mans 24 hour relay. Here's another video of the Mans (or click below on the 2nd video). You can really see how many skaters there are in this event!
Roller En Ligne has been kind enough to post a report in English (see the one in French) on the Mans 24 hours- the report has a rich list of links to all sorts of videos, photos, reports, and results- you'll have to scroll down to read the reports.
Some of the reports include the perspective from the top women's team- the PUC Speedy Girls. You can also find the qualifying times and scratch results.
Of course you want to see a ton of pictures of Le Mans, right? Right? Click here for REL's photos...ok ok, I will NOT post all the photo albums here. Instead, I will refer you to Roller En Ligne's report which has many of the photo albums listed at the bottom. There is a TON for you to look at (10 photo albums and a few videos).
