SSW Fundraising Drive Day 2, Badger Statement, Eastern Seaboard Series #3, Roller En Ligne Report- Nantes, Engadin Videos, Nijkerk WOW

SSW Fundraising Drive Day 2: I'd like to start off today's entry by thanking all of you who have supported my SSW funding drive. Yesterday's total raised was $143.98. The money will be used wisely. Some of it has already been spent on the plane ticket for worlds ($1000) and also on the Pan Am Games and World Team trials (that cost about $500).

It's amazing that the plane ticket will lead me to places that I've never been to before- somewhere far away across the world. I will do my best to share my experiences with you. The thing is though that for the Pan Am Games, the media is very controlled and I cannot really put updates or photos on SSW. I'll figure out a way to use SSW as my personal online gallery. Either that or I will update SSW with Pan Am Games news/ reports once I get back from Brazil.

My first priority at the world champs and at the Pan Am Games is on performing to the best of my ability. I know that I've been criticised in the past for not focusing on racing. As long as I am well trained- which I think I am, I'll make sure that I put up my #1 efforts. I wonder though how much my injured shoulder & leg will affect my performance.

Thanks for your support and thanks for stopping by SSW today.

Badger Statement: Cale Carvell and Glenn Koshi co-wrote a letter about last weekend's incident at the finish of the Badger State Games- see Statement Re: Badger State Games.

I thought some people might be critical about the letter, and it was met with some. Some of the criticism is aimed at officiating, or lack thereof. When I was the organizer and race director of the Toronto International Inline Race Weekend, there were some concerns about tactics in the pro women's race. The following year, I beefed up the officiating. There were still a few issues that had to do with cross-drafting, but the questionable tactics were not an issue.

Spain Pictures & Reports: Mundo Patin has posted a whole bunch of pictures- use the following links; Trofeo del C.P. Nuevo Oviedo, Trofeo de la A.D. Novares, and Spain Championships- day 1, day 2, and day 3.

Eastern Seaboard Series #3: The Eastern Seaboard Series #3 is taking place this weekend. Unfortunately I won't be there- the Canadian championships are taking place at the same time.

Roller En Ligne Report- Nantes: Roller En Ligne has posted results on the Nantes Regional Championships.

Engadin Videos: Click here for a sweet video of the Engadin WIC- it features all sorts of shots from the ground, and even better for us, from the air! Click here to view another video (or press play below). It's at the 10k mark. It looks like the pack is skating, or flying at 100km hour in the first clip of the video! And I love watching the part of the clip with the skating on the big screen and the awards- ahh the atmosphere...

Nijkerk WOW: Click here for a report/ results from the Nijkerk World on Wheels. You can find many pictures posted on Harm de Boer Fotografie- women, c Veteran, B, and .

Hello Peter,
You wrote about SkatePodium.com before, wondering when it was going to be online. Well, now it is!

At the moment it's only Dutch, but I'm sure you manage to get through it. It will be in English in the near future.
